Sandnes Garn Classic Marius Men’s Sweater Kit
From: $124.50
The Slalom Sweater, originally designed by Unn Søiland, was launched in 1952 by SANDNES GARN as what would become their iconic “MARIUS-sweater” design. The design is still very popular, and it is SANDNES GARNS’s best-selling design to this day. The MARIUS sweater received the name as it was knitted for the alpine skier and world champion Stein Eriksen’s brother, Marius Eriksen, who was even depicted on the original pattern. The MARIUS sweater has since been the symbol of Norwegian ski and outdoor living. SANDNES GARN maintains ownership rights for the “MARIUS” knitting pattern still to this day.
This classic pattern has been adapted for other garments and Sandnes Garn yarn qualities and can be found in hats, headbands, socks, sitteunderlag (sitting mats), mug covers, vests, cardigans and more. This Marius kit for men includes the yarn and Marius Men’s sweater pattern (as a download) from Sandnes Garn Tema 61 Catalog. Yarn purchased with catalogs are final sale only.
